Metropole’s @Omojuwa arrested for protesting #NIS deaths

Information from Abuja have it that blogger and twitter activist, Japh Omojuwa was today arrested by personnels of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
He was said to have been picked alongside one Uche Briggs, for leading protest to the Interior Ministry over the death of 17 Nigerian Immigration Service job seekers.
Omojuwa had last week, staged a protest at the Interior Ministry where he poured red paints signifying murder on the ground at the ministry.
Obviously dissatisfied that Abba Moro, under whose watch the unfortunate and avoidable deaths were recorded still occupied his office, Omojuwa on Wednesday carried coffins and led many youths to register their grievances.
His actions seem to have angered the NSCDC officials who were said to have whisked him away in a van to their office at Apo.
When the news of his arrest broke on the social media, his followers including former ministers Nasir El-Rufia and Oby Ezekwesili condemned it, calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
El-Rufia who said to have sent a team of lawyers to the premises where the two youths were being held for questioning.
All efforts to reach the NSCDC for official comments proved abortive as the spokesman did not answer calls made to his mobile number.
