Tanker explosion claims nine lives in Lagos

A Petrol tanker fully loaded with 33,000 litres of PMS, Tuesday night, somersaulted and exploded along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
The incident led to a heavy inferno, which claimed nine lives, affected. Four buildings and destroyed cars.
It took the combined effort of both federal and state fire services to put out the fire around 1:04am.
Confirming the disaster, NEMA’s spokesman, Ibrahim Farinloye said about nine casualties were recorded.
“We have about nine casualities. it involved petrol tanker which later spread to four houses and four commercial buses all burnt down.
“The disaster occurred at Cement Bus Stop, along Mile2 Express Road Apapa,” he said.
