For allegedly breaking his neighbour’s head with a bottle, a 50-year-old artisan, Christopher Ozor, has been arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
He is standing trial on a charge of assault, which is said to contravene Section 171 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2011.
Prosecuting Inspector Stephen Molo told the court that the offence was committed on August 27, at 30, Oyisa Street, Egan, Igando.
According to Molo, the defendant assaulted one Ikenna Chukwudi with a broken bottle and other dangerous items.
“He caused his neighbour injuries on his back and the right side of his head.
“Chukwudi was rushed to the hospital where he was admitted for seven days,” he said.
Molo said that a quarrel which had not been known broke out between the duo which led to the incident.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in N50, 000 with a surety by Magistrate I.O. Omotosho.
